Clinicians Practicing in Massachusetts
Jackie Karas, LICSW (she/her/hers)
Psychotherapist/Owner
Hello! I am a BSW graduate of Plymouth State University and a MSW graduate of Simmons College. I am currently practicing in New Hampshire. With 10 years of experience in the social work field, I have worked in various settings including community mental health, child development, healthcare, and crisis intervention. I have an eclectic therapeutic approach using a blend of best practice from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Psycho-Education, Solution Focused Therapy and other evidenced based practices.
I believe in working in partnership with clients and in utilizing their strengths in order to overcome stressors and achieve goals. I also recognize how important it is to identify all aspects of an individual’s life that may impact their well-being including physical health, relationships/support systems, community and culture.
I understand how fitting in time to meet with a therapist may be difficult, so I am available on evenings and Saturdays for appointments. I am licensed in both MA and NH.

Hello there! Seeking outside support can be difficult, but just by looking here, you have taken the first step to overcoming the problems that have brought you to consider therapy. Sometimes our problems are too difficult to manage on our own, and often times, an outside perspective is what a person needs to help them to see things differently, and that is where I come in.
I have worked in various settings as a Social Worker for almost a decade. From inpatient hospital social work, to community mental health, case management on the insurance side, and private practice, I bring a wealth of experience from multiple perspectives to help you look within and to think about things differently to help you overcome the issues that have brought you here today.
I use a number of different therapeutic modalities/styles from Solution-Focused Therapy to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy/Schema Therapy as well as a Psychodymanic approach. You are the expert on your life, and I have the education and training to bring to sessions the knowledge that I have learned in the field to create a partnership that will work together to help you combat your concerns and address your needs.
I am always honored when people consider me to be their therapist. I am open, honest and down to earth. If something is not working well for you, just tell me and we can adjust the way we are doing things and how we broach your needs. I have a wide range of experience working with adolescents as well as adults ranging the age spectrum from younger to older adults. I think I can help you, so please feel free to reach out. As I am new to this practice, I have flexibility at this time from evenings to weekends! I hope to hear from you and to be part of your journey in healing.

Do you feel like you need change but you aren’t sure where to start? If you answered yes, you’re in the right place. Whether this is your first time trying therapy or you are looking to change therapists, you have taken the first big step in doing the research.
I have found that in order for therapy to be helpful it needs to be individualized. One size doesn’t fit all, therefore I use a diverse range of therapeutic techniques to help identify, problem solve, and overcome the difficulties that you are experiencing in your life. Some of these techniques include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Illness Management and Recovery, Psychodynamic therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
I am a licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW) with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Social Work from Anna Maria College. I have over 6 years of experience in the field where I have provided individual, couples, and family therapy to a diverse range of clients ages five and up. I have worked in a variety of settings including in-home therapy, residential programs, emergency services, schools, and community-based support.
I know how hard it can be to make time for therapy in an already busy schedule, so I offer flexible evening and weekend hours all via telehealth so that you don’t have to travel.
